Deborah Buist Brock, age 73, of
Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Deborah was born on December 24, 1952, to Samuel and Doris Buist. She was one of five children and grew up in
Greenwood, South Carolina. As a child, Deborah loved riding her horse, Traveler, and spending long days outdoors with her siblings-memories she would fondly recall throughout her life.
She attended and graduated from Lander University and became a medical technologist, a career that reflected her desire to help others.
Deborah married Fred Brock in April 6, 1974, and together they made their home in Lexington, South Carolina, where they raised their two children, Paula Brock Maeger and Sam Brock. She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career working at Internal Medicine Associates in Lexington, South Carolina, until her retirement. Following her retirement, she took joy in being a devoted grandmother to Lily and Clay Brock, and Logan, Mark, and Hannah Maeger.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Fred Brock; her children, Paula Brock Maeger (Dennis) and Sam Brock (Angeline); her grandchildren, Lily and Clay Brock, and Logan, Mark, and Hannah Maeger; and her siblings, Charles Buist (Elaine), Mike Buist (Lori), and Jim Buist. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Eubanks; her brother-in-law, Gus Eubanks; and her brother Jim Buist's wife, Elizabeth Buist.
Deborah bravely fought a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She will be remembered for her vivacious spirit and her deep love for her family and friends.
As Revelation 22 describes, in heaven there is a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. It is our prayer that Deborah rejoices in her Savior as she enters into glory.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. John Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agape Hospice for the wonderful care provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deborah's memory to the
