OXFORD, MS – Deborah Ann Troxclair Case passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 8:25 PM at the Sanctuary Hospice House in
Tupelo, MS. She left this world peacefully with her three kids at her side. Deborah brought love, joy and compassion to her family, friends, and community throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling, adventure, and working on art projects. She will be remembered for her desire to help others and her servant-style leadership, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own, and her love for family and animals. She was deeply cherished as a sister, aunt, cousin, mother, grandmother, friend, teacher, and wife.
Deborah was born on February 5, 1951, in New Orleans, LA. Her parents are the late Joyce Smith Troxclair and Eddie Troxclair. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1969 and married Larry Case the same year. They had three children: Tracy Case (Thomas) Koslowski, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Scott (Alison) Case, US Air Force, and Dr. Delene Case (Donavan) White, PhD.
Deborah and Larry lived in Chalmette and Westwego, Louisiana; Pascagoula and Ocean Springs, Mississippi; St. Elmo, Alabama, and Wichita, Kansas, before settling in Gautier, Mississippi. Deborah moved to Oxford, Mississippi in 2021.
In line with her generosity, Deborah's favorite holiday was Christmas. Gift giving was one of many of Deborah's passions. She also loved devoting her time to helping others. She taught preschool in her home daycare and at Head Start. She excelled at leading Girl Scout events, from organizing district cookie fundraiser sales, community service events, to coordinating and running scout camping trips at Camp Iti Kana. Even that was not enough to satisfy Deborah's desire to serve. She also envisioned, planned, coordinated and ran day in Gautier, MS, for more than 20 years, providing her service to more than 1000 total attendees and inspiring young women to become leaders. Outside of serving others, Deborah also enjoyed expressing herself through painting and other art work. She rarely passed an opportunity for adventure, signing up for many campouts, world travel to far reaches like Germany, Canada, Vietnam; and the occasional cruise.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor from 10 AM until 12 PM Noon and the Mass will be held at 12 PM Noon. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalemette, LA. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to serve their friends.
Deborah is preceded in death by her husband Larry (2018) and brother Edward "EJ" Troxclair, Jr.
Deborah is survived by her three children; siblings Susan Troxclair (Harry, 2021) May, Pamela Troxclair (Mike, 2020) Hearty, Ronnie (Sharon) Troxclair, and Craig (Rhonda, 2002) Troxclair.
