Deborah "Debbie" Wassil-Schmoekel

Debbie Schmoekel, 72, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, following a brief and courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma.

Born in Munhall, Pennsylvania, to George and Anna Mae Gantt, Debbie graduated from Ohio University and spent her career in retail store management. She was known for her creativity, warmth, and ability to connect with others instantly - whether through her love of crafting, her incredible hospitality, or her thoughtful, generous nature.

Debbie's life centered around family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dick; her son Nate and his wife Jill; and her beloved grandsons, Vance and Cohen. She also leaves behind her brothers Michael and Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dan.

Debbie brought joy and comfort to all who knew her - a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence made every gathering brighter and every heart feel more at home.
