Deborah Bonazza Donnally 7/14/55- 2/15/2022
It is with absolute great sadness that we announce the passing of this beautiful person, far too young. Deborah Bonazza Donnally (Deb or Debbie) age 66 years old, was born on July 14, 1955 in Rochester, NY and passed very peacefully in Louisiana, in her own home and bed as she wished with her daughter, Dawn snuggled up and lying next to her as she left this world.
She was a devoted wife of 33 years, a mother, a Nona, a sister, a friend and many other roles to many close family and friends.
She was the last-born child (a late in life baby) to Margaret Galante Bonazza at age 39 and James Eugene Bonazza, who both welcomed this bundle of joy with 2 elder brothers, Jimmy and Eugene Bonazza with Jimmy 13 years her senior.
Marg and Jim were again proud parents and adored their new sweet little girl with the cutest curly hair with Shirley temple ringlets and a sweet, loving and gentle manner.
Deb was raised and surrounded by love and adoration. She attended Catholic Schools and a couple years later in high school in Rochester NY to soon have met and married Ed Donnally.
They soon set out to build a home and life with their two children, Dawn and Derek after relocating to Crystal Beach, FL of Clearwater FL, where they relished in the joys of ocean life while raising their children then later to relocate to Haughton/ Bossier Louisiana.
Debbie later remarried Jack Robison, who remained her best friend and devoted love for 33 years of a joyful life with much love.
She also met her life- long best friend /soul sister, Sharon Wisniewski, around the same time and further shared in many years filled with laughs, love, music, good food and beauty in the splendors of grass / the slings and arrows of life and all the little pieces of heaven in between.
She will forever live on in the heart of her best friend, Sharon and so many more who love her dear.
She always had a quick and comedic wit, delivered in the New York Italian Style Fashion. Debbie loved to read almost a book a day, watch her shows in the latter years and always loved music from jazz, old blues to Carly Simon and James Taylor, music was a part of every facet of her life.
She also had a passionate hobby and love for photos & capturing life's precious and random moments (little gems) to relish in the stories of our lives forever-
She loved to cook- her native Italian dishes primarily -while listening to Billy Holiday and entertaining family and friends over for "Sunday Sauce"!! She loved to cook and feed her family.
Debbie also loved the botanical garden of the earth and surrounded us all in the beauty of flowers and plants and knew the names to every flower that bloomed
She worked in the hotel industry@ Le Chataux Suites Hotel in Shreveport, LA for 21 years and continued to reside in Bossier City, LA. until her very quick and recent passing to be with our Lord on February 15, 2022.
A random stomach upset with a visit to the doctor was soon later to be determined with a diagnosis of metastatic cancer to the Lung, Brain, liver, lymph nodes with only a few short weeks following.
-and I know that God is merciful in sparing her of the agony of the time she didn't get to suffer and grieve and anger in the emotional anticipated losses/grief and heart ache her heart and mind were spared of. She was supported and cared for unconditionally by her husband Jack through out.
~We can be grateful for so many things, if we choose to see them.
In 2014, Debbie was graced with 2 grandchildren, a grandson from her son, Derek and wife, Leah and a granddaughter from her daughter, Dawn and her husband Troy who welcomed Ivy Frances Thee. Her son, Derek & wife, Leah, also welcomed Connor Donnally, a grandson who are only 2 months apart in age with Ivy born first on 10/31/14 and Connor on 12/29/14.
They are currently both in First grade with Derek and Family residing in Louisiana and Dawn and Family in NC since 2000.
Both of her grandchildren adored her like no one else and have many magical memories to keep of their most beloved Nona forever.
She also leaves behind many family members & close friends of her home town in Rochester New York; including her brother, Gene & Daughter in law Tracy & family and many other cousins, nephews, nieces and very close family friends, she loved dearly including her life long family friendship with her family and Jan Ridakus & family whose love is thicker than blood.
The immediate family of Debbie want to extend our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for all the love, thoughts, prayers and supports of loving family & friends during this time, including: Sharon Wisniewski, Ed & Sandy Donnally, Sandy Carpenter & family, Sunny Joyce & family, Napal & family, Judy & Mark, Kim Hagerty & family, Tracy Nettles & Danny, Renee Irby, Gene & Tracy Bonazza, Adelle Barone & Family Rita Tantillo Palermo, Jimmy Galante, Teresa Overfelt and a very special thanks to Sylvia Tuck and many other angels guiding us along along the way.
-including St. Joseph's Hospice of Louisiana.
Family and love- synonymously were the most important things to Deb and her young grandchildren were the light of her life and she will always remain their light--
She will be missed deeply, though kept alive through our love and the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ-
By each thought, smile, laugh, tear, melody, and remembrance of her love and beautiful spirit.
-And now these three things remain: faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love
Per Debbie's request, not to have an official service, she hoped family members would memorialize her in each their own fashion meaningful to each.
However, we will be sharing videos via private messaging with the family and friends.
Her remains are to be sent to her home in New York as she wished- right beside her mother/father and late brother Jimmy Bonazza.
