Deborah Hester

Deborah Ruth Hester, 75, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord Saturday November 16, 2025. She was born in Chickamauga, GA on July 2, 1950 a daughter of the late Gordon Lee and Dora Ruth Knight Greene. Deborah was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga North Georgia area and was a member of the Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Circle of Friends. Mrs. Hester loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and loved going to the beach. Mrs. Hester taught adult learning at Northwest Georgia Technical School for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by a sister Cheryl George and nephew Bradley Huskey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years Kermit Hester, son Gregory Shane Hester, 3 step-children Kermit Hester III, Jeffrey Hester, and Angela Hester, brother Terryl Greene, 5 step-grandchildren, 2 nieces, and a nephew.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Cliff Hudson officiating.

The burial will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
