Deborah Gail Sparks King, age 76, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the NHC of Clinton.
She was born October 17, 1949 in Whitmire, SC and was a daughter of the late Clyde Martin Sparks and Lenora Johnson Sparks. Deborah graduated from Whitmire High School in 1967 and from Greenville Technical College in 1970 and was a longtime member of Whitmire First Baptist Church. She loved gardening and toiling in the soil and had a special fondness for animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed restoring antique furniture and proudly cheered for the Carolina Gamecocks. Above all, she was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother, her family was her world.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Michael Gordon King; her sons, Brian King, Jarrod King (Kem), and Shaun King (Leanne); her grandchildren, Max Stewert, Isabella King, Emma King and her brother, Kenneth Sparks (Linda).
In addition to her parents, Deborah is preceded in death by her sister, Jolene Sparks Postal.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Whitmire with her son, Rev. Jarrod King officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whitmire First Baptist Church, 173 Glenn Street, Whitmire, SC, 29178.
