Deborah Jean Newton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed on December 17, 2024, at the age of 66 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Born on January 12, 1958 to her parents, Albert and Barbara Froehlich, she had fond memories of growing up at their lake house in Howell, MI.
Deborah lived a life of love and service to others. Married to her husband, Clayton, for 42 years, she supported him faithfully throughout his 25 years of military service. Proudly embracing her role as a military spouse, she demonstrated resilience and adaptability as they moved and built their lives together.
A dedicated mother and homemaker, Deborah transformed every house into a loving home filled with joy and laughter. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family; always welcoming others into their home and touching the lives of many.
Deborah was a loving grandmother ("Nana"). She loved her five grandchildren immensely: Justin, Morgan, Jameson, Eden, and Josie. She filled their lives with love and precious memories. Deborah loved nothing more than being with family, whether it was in her home, on a trip, or riding on their family boat.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Clayton; her children, Lindsay Anderson (Chad), Emily Gerlach (Bryan), and Matthew Newton (Liz); her six siblings Michelle, Denise (Lance), Cheri (Don), Al (Dawn), Mike (Lark), Laurie (Wayne) who held a special place in her heart; and her adored grandchildren.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Deborah's life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2024 at 2:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of East York, 3670 E. Market St., York, PA 17402. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 1:00PM – 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life for family members will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization that was close to Deborah's heart and reflects her spirit of giving.

Carmen and I received a text from Clayton informing us that Debbie had passed away. We met the Newton's in Rotterdam, Holland in 1994 when we were in the same unit, and have been dear friends since. Debbie lit up a room when she entered it. She was loving and invited her friends into her home frequently. Our Lord has welcomed a ray of sunshine into Heaven, and we will sorely miss her laughter. God bless Clayton and the entire family.

With love and deepest sympathy,
"Woody" and Carmen Wood

I will never forget Debbie and Claytons generosity toward my family and I when we first arrived in the Azores. Debbie was kind and generous and treated everyone like family. She was a Mama Bear to all of us Army Soldiers that assigned to work Clayton Command. We will be forever grateful !!!
