Deborah Ann Scavetta, 64, of East Windsor, beloved wife of Michael Hunter Ashley, II, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2025, surrounded by her family at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. Born in Hartford on June 29, 1961, daughter of the late Michael Paul and Pauline Gertrude (Beaudet) Scavetta, she was raised in East Granby and attended East Granby Public Schools.

Debbie worked for many years with her family at Carville's Ranch House in Windsor and later worked as a security guard at C&S Wholesale Grocers in Windsor Locks. After her retirement, she volunteered for many years at the Connecticut Cat Connection in Windsor where she loved caring for the cats and helping them find a loving home.

In her spare time, Debbie always looked forward to riding on her husband's Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and taking trips on the winding country roads in Eastern Connecticut. Debbie loved being with her family and often hosted card nights at her home, sharing a meal, games of setback, and countless memories. Most of all, Debbie will be remembered as a "free spirit" who liked to live her life to the fullest.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Ramie-Lee Torres and her husband Jose of Windsor Locks; two stepchildren, Durand LaFontaine of Meriden and Taylor Ashley of East Haven; five grandchildren, Antonio Torres of Windsor Locks, Diondre LaFontaine, Danielle LaFontaine, and Draven LaFontaine all of Meriden, and Autumn Cronk of East Haven; two sisters, Janet Scavetta and Terry Currier both of Windsor Locks; a brother, Daniel Scavetta of East Windsor; 11 nieces and nephews; her childhood best friend, Diane Gorman and her husband Terry of East Hartford; and her neighbor and close friend of many years, Rose Larson of East Windsor. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Cynthia L. Rivard; and a nephew, Kyle Winston Ravlin.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 10-11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family requests that in memory of Debbie's love of animals, especially cats, that memorial contributions be made to the Connecticut Cat Connection, 40 Stevens Mill Road, Windsor, CT 06095 or by visiting, www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
