Thomas "Tommy" James Scavetta
September 13, 1981 – April 2, 2025
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah his life was filled with tremendous strengths and triumphs. He often led by his golden heart, being an example to many. Tommy radiated when he was helping others whenever he could. It brought such joy to him; leaving a trail of such love.
Tommy always had a fondness of his Italian heritage and was very proud to teach others about it. Tommy will be absolutely remembered for many things including his humor, his laugh, his golden heart, and simply his love.
"Don't walk behind me I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me. I may not follow. Just walk beside me. and be my friend." -Albert Camus
Tommy enjoyed wrestling entertainment of all sorts, Raiders football, Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Lee, and Rock 'n' Roll, most notably the 80's and 90's era he was born in and raised with; but most of all, he loved his children and his family. He had an extended heart of empathy, raising two children who were not biologically his, but still treasured them as if they were his own, Preston and Kailey.
In later years, he was given the love of his beautiful daughter, Ambria, who will always be the key to his heart. He did enjoy his marriage for over a decade before parting ways, still trying with all his heart to get along and continue letting the children know, no matter what, that they were loved by him. He would always like them to remember to share his love, light, and kindness.
He was Italian and knew that family was everything. He struggled a lot when issues arose beyond his control where he couldn't see and share his love with them. To say he treasured and honored his children, would be an extreme understatement. That's all he truly wanted. To have his children know without any doubt, he loved them with all his heart.
He is, and will always be, their protector now; their golden angel with so much love given from Heaven.
"If Roses grow in Heaven, Lord please grow a bunch for me. Please place them in my brother's arms, and tell him they're from me. Tell him I love him and miss him. And when he turns to smile, place a kiss upon his cheek and hug him for a while. Because remembering him is easy, I do it every day, but there's an ache within my heart. That will never go away."
Tommy was a proud graduate of Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. He also proudly finished truck driving trade school and obtained his CDL license. He was the definition of an Italian warrior. Conquering what many could not; nobly, with such an abundant amount of love in his heart. Always embracing that love within to share with many others. Thank you for your extraordinary example. You are our sunshine. We Love You Tommy!!!
Tommy is survived by his sister, Julie Anne; his children, whom he loved so dearly; his beautiful daughter, Ambria; his step-children, Preston and Kailey; along with his nephews and nieces who treasured their Uncle Tommy: Brandon, Meade, Naitalia, Vanessa, Vittorio, and Trent; brothers-in-law, Jason and Jake; and his loving foster parents, Dawn and Brendan.
He was welcomed home by a plethora of family including his sister, Tiffany; mother, Sue; father, Jimmy; and grandparents Scavetta and Tolman; and his brother-in-law, Jimmer; all embracing him with endless love.
"Because we don't know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well, yet everything happens a certain number of times. Will you remember a certain afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more. Perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty, and yet it all seems so limitless."
"Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever. If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on, is to never stop loving them."
We love you so much Tommy/Uncle Tommy. Keep shining, Keep loving. You are our radiant sunshine. Thank you for being you!!!
Services to celebrate his extraordinary and loving life will be held Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., 6500 W. Dixie Dr., West Jordan, Utah, 84084-1547 with a balloon release and luncheon to follow.
Flowers, light, love and prayers appreciated and welcomed. Thank you whole heartedly with so much love.

I met Tommy in 2002, From day one he was very kind. One thing I always did was laugh because he sure knew how to make me laugh. One this he will always be acknowledged for is when I was pregnant with Preston and Kailey he drove me to every appointment. When I found out Kailey was a girl he gave me 100 dollar gift card to Walmart. There were nights I was so tired and he told me to come over and he took care of the baby all night so I could sleep. He made a cute little bed in a laundry basket. When Ambria was born he was my super man dad! She was a very hard newborn and I could have never done it by myself. I'm truly glad that Ambria has every good part of Tommy. I get the good part of Tommy from Ambria. I feel she was his gift because he took such good care of Preston and Kailey. Tommy came to me in a dream the other night. He talked to me, just one on one. He explained to me what happened, he told me he seen his grandpa. He was like that Tommy i met back in 2002. No matter what happened in life I will never forget how much he helped me and his big kind heart. No matter what anyone assumes or thinks I will always have love in my heart for this man. No one can take that from me. Thank you Tommy for being so supportive to me and being there for me. Up until 2011 things were going very good for us. My memories will always be the best of tommy
