Obituary
Deborah "Deb" Jean (Mauchin) Skane
Deborah "Deb" Jean Skane, age 56, of Mechanicsburg, lost her battle with leiomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, peacefully passing away on Thursday July 13, 2023, while in at-home hospice care. She was born in Wilmington, DE on July 22, 1966 and was a 1984 graduate of Cherry Hill High School East, Cherry Hill, NJ. She later obtained an associate degree in paralegal studies from Harrisburg Area Community College.
Deb is survived by Daniel W Skane, her husband of 35 years, her mother, Elizabeth (Diskowski) Mauchin, Hockessin, DE; sister Linda Beard, nephews Shane Beard and Kyle Beard, Wilmington, DE, brother in-law Shawn Beard, Glasgow, MT; sister Karen Maslowe, brother in-law Lou Maslowe, Newtown Square, PA, niece Meagan Maslowe, Arlington, VA and nephew Kevin Maslowe, New York, NY. Deb found great joy and happiness sharing in the lives of her family, especially her niece and nephews.
Deb was predeceased by her father, Ian "Scotty" Mauchin, a true Scotsman, and the family's beloved dog, Buffy.
Deb was a very fun and friendly person but at the same time very private. There will be no viewing and no service as Deb chose cremation with her ashes to be scattered later, somewhere near the ocean.
Deborah's family has entrusted her care to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory in Mechanicsburg, (717) 766-3421.
