Mrs. Deborah Lynn “Debbie” Townsend, age 71
Of Virginia, formerly of Waverly, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, VA.
Debbie was a dedicated member of the Waverly Church of Christ for many years before moving and becoming a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Salem, Virginia. Her commitment to her faith was evident not only in her church attendance but also in the warmth and kindness she extended to all around her.
An avid enthusiast of nature, Debbie found great joy in bird and squirrel watching. These simple pleasures brought her immense happiness and were a cherished part of her daily life. Deborah also relished the moments spent dining out with her family, where laughter and love were always abundant.
One of her proudest accomplishments was the joy she found in playing with her grandchildren. These moments were filled with laughter and rich memories, showcasing the deep bond she shared with her family. Her love for them was boundless, and she created a nurturing environment where they thrived.
Mrs. Townsend’s wishes were to be cremated.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until service time at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 4:00pm Friday, February 6, 2026, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Christopher French officiating.
Interment of cremains will follow in Richlawn Cemetery.
