We commemorate and honor the life of Debra J. Cox. She left us on November 16 2021, due to Covid-19. She now spends eternity with her great love, James Cox. Debbie and Jimmy were married for almost 48 years. She was born in Cincinnati Ohio on November 7th 1956, to Earl and Martha Mitchell. Debbie is best known to all for loving her family more than life itself. She loved her children with all of her heart, including her sons Matthew and Eric. She was not just a mother to her sons, but to her granddaughters Tiffany, Taylor and Tara as well. Her granddaughter Kristyn and grandson Eric were also held deeply in her heart, as was her great granddaughter Ava. She had many siblings who she loved and cherished, including Linda, Sharon, Darlene, David and Judy. She had more nieces and nephews then she could count, but favored among them are Missy, Sherry, Scotty, Brandon and Phil. Debbie also felt very lucky and blessed to have many years of laughter with her other half of the "porch people", her truest and very best friend, Jane Boyles. Debbie also loved visiting Florida and spending time with her "favorite Colombian guy" Ruben and his family.
Aside from her family, Debbie had many interests and enjoyed various things throughout her life. She was an avid horror movie fan, including her favorite movie "The Silence of The Lambs". She enjoyed going to bingo, the casino, decorating the house each Christmas, yellow roses, horses and her beloved dogs Patches and Zoey, she was so happy to have family and friends over for cookouts and pool parties, and she loved traveling, especially to the beach. She looked forward to endless shrimp at Red Lobster each September, and to the unforgiving winter giving way to the new blooms of spring. It was recently discovered that she may have "invented" picture filters, in her countless hours of scrapbooking her loved ones photos. She was known as Mom, Mama, Grandma, G'ma, Grammy, Aunt Deb, Debra Jean, and Debbie. She didn't care what you called her, she just loved that you showed her you cared. And now her time has come to rest, she has earned this time of peace. For her, the lambs have all stopped screaming. We love you, nighty night, Clarice.
Visitation will be Friday, November 26th from 4 pm until service at 7 pm. at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, Westwood (3155 Harrison Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45211). Saturday, November 27th, family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 am with burial to follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
