Debra Jean Howard

Debra Jean Howard, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on October 19, 2025, at her residence in Carnesville, Georgia. Born on August 28, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia, she led a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a profound love for her family and faith.

A proud retiree of the retail industry, Debra's professional journey reflected her commitment to service and connection with others. However, it was her role as a devoted member of the Pond Fork Baptist Church in Pendergrass, Georgia, that truly encapsulated her spirit. She actively engaged in the church community, forming meaningful relationships and spreading kindness among her fellow congregants.

Debra is survived by her son, Christopher Todd Howard; her brother, Mike Pruitt; her sister, Melissa Parr; as well as four cherished grandchildren and six adored great-grandchildren. Her legacy continues through several nieces and nephews who will always remember her laughter and love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Pruitt; her mother, Margaret Inez Fowler Pruitt; and her daughter, Melanie April Hardman. Their memories remain cherished in the hearts of those who loved her deeply.

A memorial service will be held on November 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Pond Fork Baptist Church, located at 2615 Pond Fork Church Road, Pendergrass, Georgia, 30567, with Pastor Chris Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Pond Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor Debra’s life, remembering her as a cherished daughter, mother, sister, and friend.
