Debra Lynn Howdyshell, a beloved mother, partner, sister, and friend, passed away on February 9, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and warmth. Born on May 26, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, Debra embodied the spirit of kindness and compassion throughout her life.

For over six years, Debra dedicated herself to her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at White's and Associates Home Health, where she provided care and comfort to those in need. Her nurturing nature and gentle touch made a lasting impression on the lives she touched, reflecting her heartfelt commitment to helping others.

Debra was truly a free spirit, whose vibrant personality shone through in everything she did. She had a special fondness for peace signs, dream catchers, and windchimes, which adorned her home and symbolized the positivity she carried within her. Her love for colorful tie-dye clothing further demonstrated her exuberance for life. Not only did she have a love for froggies, but Debra also found joy in the cosmic majesty of the stars, often spending evenings gazing upward, captivated by the beauty of the universe.  She was also a great wrestling fan!

In her role as a matriarch, Debra was undoubtedly the ROCK of her family, a foundation of strength and support. She is survived by her son, Michael Hampton, and his partner, Cordie Barrick; daughters Marisa Leigh Hampton-Julian, and her partner, Collin Lee, and Melissa Hampton O'Neil, and her partner, Curtis. Debra shared her life with her loving partner of over five years, Stevie Crawford, who provided her with companionship and joy. She is also survived by her brother, Ron Howdyshell, and his partner, Monica; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who brought an immeasurable amount of happiness to her life. Additionally, her beloved fur babies, Chopper and Ozzy, were a source of comfort and companionship through thick and thin.

Debra has been reunited with her father, Carl Howdyshell, her mother, Edna Christian Howdyshell, the father of her children, Dale Hampton, her two little angels, her brother, Carl Howdyshell, and her sisters, Patricia Leavitt and Bonnie Like, who all welcomed her into their embrace in the heavens above.

Debra Lynn Howdyshell will be forever remembered for her radiant spirit, her unwavering love for her family and friends, and her boundless compassion for others. She leaves behind a tapestry woven with memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
