Debra was a beacon of strength, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her gentle spirit, radiant smile, and selfless heart touched countless lives, and her life was a testament to grace, compassion, and resilience.
Born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, she dedicated her life to the country by serving in the United States Navy. She later became Department Manager for K-Mart for 30 years and Assistant Store Manager with Eckerd and Rite Aid for an additional 14 years. She found joy in the simple moments-praying for others, cooking favorite meals, and spending time with family.
She reunites with her loved ones who have passed before her, Leontine and Otis Thompson. While we grieve her earthly absence, we rejoice in knowing she is at peace, embraced by eternal light and divine love.
She leaves behind her daughter Marcella Slocumb, husband Juan H. Johnson, and brothers Charles and Larry Williams, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life funeral ceremony will be held on May 12, 2025. Instead of flowers, the family asks that supporters honor her memory with an act of kindness or a prayer in her name.
