Debra Salkeld Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center on Jan. 3, 2026.
Debra "Deb" Lynne Salkeld (born Johnson), a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Delaware, Ohio, in the early hours of Thursday, January 1, 2026, with her devoted husband of 20 years, Ron Salkeld, by her side. She was 72 years old and had shown remarkable courage throughout her two-year battle with illness.
Born on September 15, 1953, in Bryan, Ohio, Deb was the daughter of Allen and Helen Johnson, who preceded her in death. She grew up in a large and loving family as one of five children. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Susan Allgire (survived by Relmond Allgire) and Joy Johnson. Deb is survived by her siblings Mary Gail (John) Hoskins and Allen (Tina) Johnson.
A graduate of Quincy High School's Class of 1971, Deb went on to attend both Central Michigan University and the University of Phoenix. After retiring from General Motors Acceptance Corporation in 2005, her hardworking spirit led her to start her own business, Diversified Data Solutions, where she served clients across the United States with dedication and excellence.
In her free time, Deb found joy on the water, spending countless cherished hours boating on Lake St. Clair with her devoted husband, Ron Salkeld. She was also a talented artist who loved drawing and creative projects-hobbies her family and friends will forever treasure. Known for her creativity, determination, and meticulous nature, Deb was also famously camera-shy, a trait that became a beloved part of her story.
Deb had a gift for gathering people into her heart. Once she considered you family, you were family for life. She adored-and was deeply adored by-her 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and her six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Chuck Klipfel; her sons Randy Klipfel and Charles Klipfel Jr.; and her daughters Heather, Jennifer, and Amber Riley. She is survived by her sister-in-law Pat (Jim) Baisell, and her children, Angela Riley, Lissa (Rick) Driscoll, Darlene (Don) Witt, Ronald Salkeld Jr., Bryan (Michelle) Salkeld, and Duane (Sissy) Salkeld.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where services celebrating Deb's life will follow at 6:00 pm. The services will be webcast and can be viewed by visiting www.facebook.com/delawaresfh/
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Fresenius Kidney Care-Delaware for their exceptional care during her illness and OhioHealth Compassus Hospice for the love and care they provided to Deb in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Deb's memory may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
