Debra Thurman Obituary
Debra K. Thurman, 70, Gas City, passed away in her home at 6:45 pm on Friday, December 5, 2025. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, May 2, 1955, to Donald and Wanda (Mesker) Stratton. Debra graduated from Eastbrook High School worked at United Technology. You would often find her in a casino because gambling was her favorite past time. She liked to garden and grow her flowers. She loved to dance and enjoyed country music. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandkids.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Mygrant of Roanoke; granddaughter, Tiffany (Jake) Waldrop of Huntington; great-grandsons, Lincoln Waldrop and Corey Downam; and brother, Donald (Nancy) Stratton of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Wanda Stratton; son, Michael Thurman II.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Debra's life will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
