DeJuan Derrel Lee Burrus, Sr. was born March 28, 1989, in Indianapolis, IN the son of Charles Lee Hargrow and Leticia Felicia Burrus. DeJuan was the oldest child on his mother's side out of five children and the only boy on his father's side out of five children.
DeJuan attended IPS School #105 and graduated from Warren Central High School. DeJuan was self-employed in the construction industry.
On November 1, 2018, he married the love of his life and best friend, Jasmine Evette Nicole Jones. DeJuan loved his wife and children immensely. Family was important to DeJaun! He enjoyed a good meal, traveling with his wife and he was a huge fan of body art. His body was FULL of tattoos! DeJuan had the biggest heart. His smile would light up any room he entered. He loved to show his gold teeth! His love for his family was unconditional, especially his wife and children. No matter the occasion, Dejuan's clothing attire was always fresh and fly! A family man at heart, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his little sister, DeVona. They shared the same birthday with DeJuan being one year older than her. DeJuan was truly one of a kind. He loved his hair, good music and was a smooth dancer.
DeJuan Derrel Lee Burrus, Sr. departed this life on Saturday, October 26, 2024. He was 35 years old. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eddie and Bobbie Jean Hargrow; maternal grandparents, Joe and Brenda Burrus; uncle, Freddie Hargrow; and aunt, Lisa Burrus. DeJuan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy loving wife, Jasmine; sons, DeJuan Derrel Lee Burrus, Jr., De'Jon Derrel Lee Burrus (Anyla), Kash Derrel Lee Burrus; his one and only daughter, Kamila Nicole Louise Burrus; step daughter, Aliana Iseias Gebreslassie; father, Charles Lee Hargrow (Laquita); mother, Leticia Felicia Burrus (Scott); brother, Devon; sisters, Lashyia, Moniqua, DeVona (Antny); DaiTre'Yona, Payton, De'Yona; uncles, Warren Whitsey, Joel Burrus (Shontrice), Brian Burrus (Tammy), Bruce Burrus, Shawn Burrus, Sr. (Yenovia), aunts, Jodi Burrus, Brelinda Green (Curtis), LaToi Downing (DeShon), Eddie Jean Kendrick (Keith), Diann Hargrow, Shawn "Kat" Hargrow; 11 nieces; 5 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

My nephew was the realist, he had such a huge heart and I will always remember him for his kindness to me, he always showed me the utmost respect and love, the last time I saw him was on my Birthday year 2020, we had not seen each other in so long, he gave me the biggest hug and said he loved me, I told him I loved him more and how handsome he was. Words cannot express the sudden loss to our families. I will always keep you and that big cool-aid smile in my heart you were a legend in Indianapolis, and you will always be our Angel, Rest East Lil Nut and I pray for strength and comfort to your family and kids as well.
