Delbert Pritchard Creef

Delbert Pritchard Creef, born on November 7, 1931, in Elizabeth City, NC, peacefully passed away on May 4, 2024. He was 92 years old.
Delbert dedicated much of his life to serving his country and community. With a proud and distinguished career, he honorably served in the US Air Force for twenty-one years before transitioning to become an ROTC Instructor for the public school system, where he imparted knowledge and values to countless students over two decades.
A man of faith, Delbert was a devoted member of Corinth Baptist Church, finding solace and strength in his spiritual community. Additionally, he generously gave back by volunteering at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center for ten years, making a positive impact on the lives of patients and staff alike.
Delbert is now reunited with his beloved wife, Carolyn Naomi Carter Creef, and his parents, Colas Bradford Creef and Essie Melissa Ranhorn Creef, as well as his siblings Miriam Louise Creef, Nelma Creef Flowers, Helen Marie Creef Midgett, Mildred Creef Williamson, and Bradford Leon Creef, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Debra Carol Creef Bateman (Kenneth), Steven Carter Creef (Debbie), and Jonathan Pritchard Creef (Heather), as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jason Lee Creef (Janet), Derrick Justin Creef, Harrison Casey Bateman (Stephanie), Jonathan Pritchard Creef, Jr. (Nicole), Brittany Allison Creef Harris (Chris), and Cody Lewis Creef (Kara), and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Victoria Wisner, Dave White, Ronnie Long, and Arnold White (Big Man) for their dedicated service to Mr. Creef over the years.
Delbert Pritchard Creef will be remembered for his dedication, service, and unwavering commitment to those around him. His legacy of selflessness and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 with military honors. A visitation will be at Twiford Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and all other times at Mr. Creef's residence.
