Delbert No Neck

Delbert No Neck was born on a spring day, April 8, 1952, along the rim of the badlands of South Dakota.
Delbert was raised by his uncle Ed Two Bulls, Jr., who taught him many things. His best friend was Buddy Red Bow and they played along the badlands. Delbert was one of Buddy's body guards. Delbert was an accomplished self-taught artist. His artwork is currently hanging in many prestigious art galleries around the world. Delbert painted many full-sized murals in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Springfield, SD, and in many other places where he roamed.
Delbert was a nomad, his Lakota blood could never be tamed, and he wondered all over the country meeting new people and making memories. Delbert had a grin and a strong handshake for everyone he met; he had a lot of friends. In his last days of his life, Delbert made his home in Mitchell, SD. Delbert made lifelong friendships and told many stories to his new family. Delbert was raised among horses, and it was his honor to continue to work with horses at Reclamation Ranch in Mitchell, SD. Delbert was an old-time cowboy who loved his Tony Lamas, Stetson hats, and Levi jeans. Delbert loved riding bulls and being around old-time cowboys and cowgirls.
Delbert lived his life, his way. He knew when it was time to leave, and he did, on his terms, in his own special way.
On December 12, 2023, Delbert left Earth for his journey to the Spirit World. Delbert left behind his sister, Fedelia (Robert) Cross, six nieces and nephews, fourteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Delbert leaves behind his relatives from the Jumping Bull family, One Feather family, Little Killer-Two Bulls family, and No Neck family from his Southern Cheyenne bloodline.
Delbert's pallbearer will be Don "Gummer" Garnier, whom he met on his travels and spoke fondly of.
Delbert's honorary pallbearers will be all the friends and family that cared for him, especially all the girls he loved and all the girls who loved him back.
After roaming the countryside, Delbert will be laid to rest at Red Shirt Table, at the 7th Day Adventist Cemetery, where he grew up, along the Cheyenne River, on December 28, 2023. A dinner in his memory will be held at Br. Rene Hall, in Oglala, SD, on December 28, 2023, with services starting at 11:00 am.
Traditional Lakota services will be rendered by the Medicine Horse Sundance Leaders. Eyapaha will be Ivis Long Visitor.
