DELBERT D. WHEELER
Delbert D. Wheeler, 89, St. Charles, MO passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 23, 1934, in Boone County, MO the son of the late Buford and Grace (Brincefield) Wheeler. On September 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to Stella (Gilpin) Wheeler who preceded him in death on January 14, 2012.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son David Wheeler and Janice of Columbia, MO; three daughters Katherine Lucas of Columbia, MO, Rebecca Lamprecht and her husband Jerry of St. Charles, MO and Grace Wheeler of Columbia, MO; four grandchildren Emylie Deuel and her husband Robert, Elizabeth Carter, Russell Wheeler and Steve Nowlin; one great granddaughter Tiara Deuel; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, one son Delbert Wayne Wheeler and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Delbert first worked as a laborer in construction, later as a custodian for the University of Missouri and finally as a custodian at KOMU in Columbia, MO. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, Missouri Tigers and the St. Louis Blues. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Centralia City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Missouri Food Bank, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240.
