Delicia Tentativa Cartell

Delicia Cartell, 81, of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away peacefully in hospice care on the evening of October 30, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with Parkinson's disease.
Born in February 1944 in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Philippines, during the height of World War II, Delicia grew up surrounded by the warmth of her parents, Tomas and Eugina Tentativa. Her childhood and young adult years in Iloilo shaped her resilient character and her lifelong spirit of generosity. In March 1989, the family relocated to Chesapeake, Virginia, where Delicia joyfully planted roots that would last a lifetime.
Delicia went on to spend more than twenty years working in sales and customer service, where she was known for her kindness, work ethic, and warm presence. She retired in 2009, leaving behind colleagues and customers who adored her.
Delicia is survived by her husband of 42 years, Peter Cartell; daughter Lora Cartell; son Mark Cartell; and granddaughter Ariana Cartell. She is also survived by her siblings George, Arthur, and Will Tentativa, and her younger sister Divina Calijan and their families including several nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind a legacy of grace, devotion, and quiet strength. Those who loved her will carry her memory forward with deep gratitude and endless affection.
