Mary Ellen Wright was born in Paterson NJ on October 7,1955 to the late Roosevelt Wright Sr. & Bertha Wright. Mary was educated within the New Jersey Public School System. She's a Graduate of Eastside High School, she furthered her education @ Bergen Community College, Bloomfield College, Passaic County Community College & Rutgers University School of Law & obtaining her Doctorate.
Mary wore many hats she was a computer Technician @ Montclair University Library, Literacy coordinator & Information Tech Specialist for Paterson Education Foundation, VS Corporate services for Women's rights Information Center, Computer Class Coordinator for Bergen Tech & Bergen Community College, Securities Document Analyst, PCCC Adjunct Professor and at Bergen County, Teletech Agent for Hyundai, Social media evaluator for Appen Global, Inc.
In the latter years, she moved to Charlotte, NC with her significant other Ronald Alston after a number of years, they moved to Chesapeake VA, something she's only been talking about it for a quite some time, she finally made it. Unfortunately God called his Angel Mary home at 70 yrs. old & 15 days at their residence on October 23, 2025
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and a host of other relatives and was also widowed by James Johnson.
Mary leaves to cherish in her precious memory her two Daughters, Charnissa James(Marc Montgomery) Kimberly Johnson Singh (Chris Singh), her Nephews: Terence Wright, Denzel Wright and a great Nephew Ken C. Ogu Niece: Somali Wright- Ogu, Grandchildren Dominique James (Tim), Derek Gray, Hakeem Gray, Johnathan Gray (Rachelle) Great Grand Children: Zakari Porter, Armani Gray & Myana Gray. Brothers: Roosevelt Wright Jr, Joseph Wright, Patrick Wright( Joanne), Sisters: Rosanna Wright (Craig), Theresa Wright
As well as a host of other Family, Friends and anyone else that she has touched & encountered over the course of her well-lived life. The lifestyle she lived: a mother, grandmother, God mother, God sister, aunt, lawyer, librarian, Pc mom, herbalist, naturalist & spiritualist. She loved the arts, she loved books, computers & she loved to teach. She loved music of all genres to an extent but loved her Luther, Prince, Sade & countless others, she loved entertaining & cooking!
Mary loved and lived every moment she was given in her own way
Mary was Thankful, Graceful, Grateful, Loved & Blessed
A celebration of life will be held 2pm, Friday, Nov. 7, 2025 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. Condolonces may be offerd to the fmaily at www.hollomon-brown.com
