Della Gordon Baldwin, 81, of
Lake Providence, LA, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on September 8, 1944, she cherished sharing her birthday with Our Blessed Mother and lived her life as a devoted Catholic, grounded in faith and love.
Della was the beloved wife of Arthur Tim Baldwin, with whom she shared 36 years of marriage. She was previously married to the late Lee S. "Zeek" Myers, Jr. with whom she shared four children. She was a loving mother to Mary Margaret Minsky (Alvin), Lee S. Myers III, Robert McAfee "Mac" Myers (Catherine), Della Padgette Whitaker (Jamie), and David Kesting. Known affectionately as "Della" or "Mema" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she leaves behind a legacy of love for grandchildren Rachel Holden, E. J. Holden, Sam Minsky (Celeste), Cameron Myers, Lauren Myers, Will Myers, Ruth Myers, Tyler Barrett, Jacob Whitaker, Zeek Whitaker, Theo Kesting, and Eli Kesting; and great-grandchildren Mary Grace Meadows, Arabella Meadows, Jackson Holden, Tucker Holden, Oliver Minsky, Emmett Minsky, and Miles Minsky.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Gordon and Della Bordelon; her first husband, Lee S. "Zeek" Myers, Jr.; brothers Larry Gordon and Joseph Gordon; and sisters Senobia Gordon, Juanita Heriot, and Irene Ducker.
She is survived by her brother Charles Gordon (Linda) and sister Delores Latiolais, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A certified master gardener, Della delighted in cultivating beautiful and unique plants-especially her beloved peppers-and sharing her knowledge with others. She was an artist whose creativity touched every part of her life. Whether painting, drawing, or designing gardens, she brought color and beauty into the world. She shared her gifts by teaching art and serving with Teach For America as an AmeriCorps member. She inspired creativity and curiosity in those around her. Della's deep love for Jesus and artistic spirit shaped every life she touched. Her family and friends will remember her for a vivacious and resilient nature, creativity, and joyful soul.
Visitation and Holy Rosary will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lake Providence on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 5-7 pm.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 11 am with Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Cemetery. Services are under trhe direction of Cox Funeral Home.
With deep gratitude, the family thanks Crossroads Hospice and caregivers Barbara Johnson, Teresa Johnson, and Jerri Harvey Brown, whose compassionate care was a true blessing to Della.
Pallbearers will be Tom Hutson, Rev. Bill Bearden, Louis Minsky, Paul Minsky, Terral Prevost, Mark Brown.
