Della J Hamilton

Della Jeane Hamilton, a Troy native, age 87, went to heaven on October 2, 2025. She passed of natural causes.
Della Jeane was a wonderful, vibrant, compassionate Mother, Wife, Sister, and Friend. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy.
Della was laid to rest on October 21 at Ebenezer Cemetery, in the embrace of her adoring husband Homer, who passed in March 2021. Her daughter Linda Kay passed in November, 2017. Della's infant twin daughters died shortly after birth in May, 1957.
Della Jeane is survived by her beloved sisters Cassie and Sara, soul sister Sherry, niece and partner in crime Deiska, grandson Sean, and son Jess. Special thanks to her friend and caregiver Vanessa.
Della was an incredible person of tenacious spirit who led a productive, colorful life. She loved travel, her greyhound racers, her miniature dachshunds, couples ice skating with Homer, fishing in her pond, slot machines, baking, canning, cooking, Halloween, and a warm fire. She was an accomplished seamstress and a Master at creating wonders in stained glass. Della would often work through the night, engrossed in crafting and finishing a piece. She was tireless!
Della was a nurturing Mother who always encouraged her children to pursue and achieve their dreams. She was a fiercely loyal friend.
Della was a physically beautiful, stylish woman who always possessed a curiosity about the world around her. She read and educated herself constantly. Della was a person to be admired and an exemplar for us all.
Della Jeane Hamilton will always be remembered and cherished by her friends and family. Mom is loved forever.
