Roy Crowe Kendrick

Roy Crowe Kendrick, a native of Banks, AL, died at home in Spartanburg, SC, on October 24, 2025. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy at 12:30 PM followed by a graveside service at Banks Cemetery in Banks with Rev. Michael Alsup officiating.
Mr. Kendrick was proceeded in death by his parents John Roy Kendrick and Florrie Mildred Crowe Kendrick as well as by his siblings John Cullen Kendrick, Thomas David Kendrick, and Judy Mildred Hitt. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Harmon Kendrick, his son John Justin Kendrick (Susan) and his grandchildren Emma Grace Hughes (Drew), John William Kendrick, and Thomas Jackson Kendrick. He is also survived by his sister, Mary June Kendrick, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Kendrick spent many years working for the USDA Soil Conservation Service serving in several different counties in Alabama. At age 37, he attended Auburn University, graduating with a degree in Forestry at age 40. After retiring from the Soil Conservation Service, he worked for the State of Alabama Soil and Water Conservation Committee for 10 years. He then returned to Pike County where he worked for the National Agricultural Statistics Service while also serving on the County Board of the Association of Conservation Districts. During this time, he served as the President of the State Association of Conservation Districts. Mr. Kendrick was an avid gardener and reader and had a great love for rural Alabama. He was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville and then First Presbyterian Church in Troy, serving as a deacon in Greenville and as an elder and deacon in Troy.
