Delores Jean Threlkeld

Delores Jean Threlkeld, age 85, previously of Shelbina, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at her son's home in St. Joseph, MO.
Delores was born August 30, 1939, in Shelbyville, MO, the daughter of James Luther and Agnes Cecelia (Bichsel) Copenhaver. She was united in marriage to Frank Terrill "Terry" Threlkeld on November 21, 1959, near Hagers Grove, MO. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2020.
Delores was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Donna Roberts; and brother, David Copenhaver.
She is survived by her three children, Gary Threlkeld (Cindy) of St. Joseph, MO, William J. Threlkeld (Stacy) of Huntsville, MO, and Kevin Threlkeld (Gina) of Wildwood, MO; grandson Matthew Threlkeld (Donna) of Quartz Hill, CA; granddaughter, Mandy Rhoades of Mound City, MO; great grandson, Hunter Rhoades and great granddaughter, River Rhoades of Mound City, MO; two brothers, William Copenhaver (Sharon) of Wentzville, MO and Stanley Copenhaver (Rene) of Peculiar, MO; brother-in-law, Howard Roberts; and sister-in-law, Sally Copenhaver.
Delores was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and the St. Mary's Altar Society. She had also been a past treasurer for St. Mary's. Delores worked for many years as a personal banker for Mercantile Bank in Shelbina. She loved going on RV trips with Terry, especially the years when they traveled to Texas and Arizona for the winter. She was known for making the best strawberry jam. Delores also enjoyed playing BINGO, dominoes, golfing, and working in her garden.
Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelbina, MO. A visitation will precede the service starting at 12 pm at the church. Burial will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Shelbina, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Shelby County Food Bank.
