DeLoris Emaline (Tangquist) Rafteseth of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Farmstead Living Center of Moorhead.
DeLoris was born on September 3, 1932, to Clarence and Esther (Larson) Tangquist in Viking, MN. She graduated from Newfolden High School (MN) in 1950.
DeLoris married Lloyd Rafteseth on June 11, 1954, in Viking, MN. They made their home in Moorhead, where five daughters were blessed to their union. She put her skills learned growing up on a farm to good use caring for her husband with a demanding railroad career and their three daughters.
At the age of six years her father prayed with her to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by three daughters: Linda (Thomas) Murphy, Fargo, Pamela (Neilden) Vatthauer, Rochester, MN, and Debra (Richard) Wentzel, Underwood, MN, nine grandchildren: Kristyn (Peter) Hamm, Michael (TK Leibrand) Murphy, Scott (Pamela) Murphy, Deneall (Gary) Blok, April (Mark) Roessing, Lana (Phonchai) See, Brooke (Dor) See, Austin (Nicole) Wentzel, and Ethan (Ashley) Wentzel; 22 great grandchildren; sister Ardelle Anderson, Viking, MN; brother Dwight (Linda) Tangquist, Thief River Falls, MN; sister in law Evadell Tangquist, Crookston, MN, one brother in law, Walter (Ardis) Rafteseth, Chanhassen, MN, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 2017, her parents Clarence and Esther Tangquist, infant twin daughters, Judy Ann and Jane Susan, and brother Paul Tangquist, and brother-in-law Hal Anderson.
DeLoris’ family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Farmstead Living Center for their loving care they provided over the past year.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Bethel Church in Fargo, ND, with Pastor Jonas Bundy officiating. Burial will follow in the Moorhead Memorial Gardens in Moorhead, MN.
