Mrs. Delorise Byrd Bullock, 72, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina transitioned on April 17, 2025.
Delorise Bullock passed away peacefully on the morning of April 17, 2025, surrounded by love. Her husband, daughter, and family were by her side, offering comfort and support as she transitioned from this life.
Born in Hinesville, Georgia, to Lewis Byrd and Annie Thomas, Delorise later made her home in New York, where she raised her three beloved daughters. She dedicated 25 years of service as a housekeeper at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center before retiring. Beyond her professional life, Delorise was deeply rooted in her faith. She served faithfully as a deaconess and missionary at Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Central Islip, New York, where she began her spiritual journey and touched many lives.
Delorise is survived by her loving husband, Samuel Bullock; her daughters, Lachele, Lashawne, and Shunta Allen; and her stepchildren, Jeanine Harding, Samuel Bullock II (Tanya), and Damian Bullock (Sharrie). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Danasia and Rashina Jones, Charlese Pannell, Cheyenne Johnson, Jadein and Tajon Allen; her great-granddaughters, Arya and Asia McCall; her sister, Patricia Jackson; brothers, William and George Byrd; along with many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
She will always be remembered for her compassion, kindness, unwavering truth, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her.
Her spirit, strength, and love will continue to live on in all who knew her.
A Visitation for Mrs. Bullock will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Rocky Mount Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home located at 325 Nash Street in Rocky Mount, NC. The interment will immediately follow the service in the Gardens of Gethsemane in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
