Mrs. Ina R. Bullock, age 94, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
She was born December 29, 1930 the daughter of the late Fulton Bradley and Mary Reba
Fowler Rabon. Mrs. Bullock was a faithful charter member of Living Water Baptist Church. She
was instrumental in the startup of VBS at Living Waters Baptist Church and served as the
director of VBS for the church for 15 plus years as well as the director of VBS for the
Waccamaw Baptist Association for a while. Because of her dedication to this ministry, she was
known as "Miss VBS". Through the years she served in various children and youth ministries
sharing her love of the Lord with countless children including teaching a Backyard Bible School
at Creekside and Grainger Park for several years. She dearly loved her church and her church
Family.
Mrs. Bullock enjoyed sewing and embroidery, excelling at both. She also loved to deliver
homemade bread and pecan pies during the Thanksgiving holiday to friends and family. She
was an avid reader until her eyesight began to fail and she then listened to her books on tape.
She enjoyed singing praises to the Lord and listening to Christian music especially Southern
gospel and Blue Grass.
Mrs. Ina was a pioneer in what was thought of as a "man's" work place. She worked several
years at Fair Bluff Body Shop as an estimator, Doug Long's Body Shop (Loris), and Gateway
Ford (Conway) as the first lady body shop foreman and estimator. She later worked at Red
Bluff Body Shop as estimator and office manager alongside her husband, Johnnie.
Mrs. Bullock also worked with her special friend, Buddy Cox, at Southland Nursery and
Landscaping for many years.
She cherished her family and will be remembered as a caring and devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, and friend.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Bullock was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie McNeil Bullock,
a daughter, Mary Fields Carter, a son, David Bullock, three brothers, Rudolph Rabon, Donald
Rabon, and Boyd Rabon, one sister, Willie Jo Tyree, and two infant grandsons David Fields and
Bobby Strickland.
Surviving are three daughters, Johnnie Sue "Susie" Townsend of Lumberton, NC, Deborah
Gilmore (Gill) of State Road, NC, and Shelly Bullock Kinlaw (Willie) of Conway; one daughter-in-
law, Laura Bullock of Longs; eleven grandchildren, Curtis Ray Fields (Angie), Lori Kilpatrick
(Dan), Gregory Chuck Strickland (Angie), Tony Strickland (Audrey), R. Bradley Gilmore
(Monica), Johnnie Gilmore (Trista), Hannah Gilmore (Michelle), Amanda Ward (Danny), Heather
Cooper, Michael Simmons (Nikki), and Jamie Simmons; twenty four great grandchildren, Jessie,
Taylor, Austin, Morgan, Matthew, Charles, Cory, K.D., Kara, Alec, Ryan, Allie, Harper, AnaBelle,
Mason, Jillian, Autumn, Lillianna, Olivia, David, Jacob, Jaxson, Colton, and Grayson; eight great
great grandchildren, an honorary "grandson" Brooks Cox, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00 PM-1:45 PM, at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Living Water Baptist
Church with Rev.John Goudelock and Rev. Lebron Crisp officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Leon
Cemetery.
