Denise D. Cyr

Washburn - Denise D. Cyr, 58, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at her residence. She was born September 17, 1965, in Hartford, CT, the daughter of Daniel James and Jean Mary (Del Greco) DeVeau.
Denise grew up in Manchester, CT, and graduated from Wethersfield High School June 22, 1984. She then continued her education at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT, earning a master's degree in computer programming. After graduating, Denise moved to Newington, CT where she started a career at New Britain Hospital in the IT Department, working there for many years. Denise and her family moved up to Washburn, Maine in 1998, and she went to work at Burrelle's, and later at ATX on Sweden St in Caribou. Before her retirement, Denise was operating her own small business as a computer programmer.
In her spare time, she enjoyed going for walks, and going with her family to Foxwood Casino. Denise also liked going to car races and she was a big fan of Dale Earnhart Sr. and Garth Brooks music. She was a talented crocheter and made many blankets for family and friends. Denise also loved to give her time and talents to many of the local community nonprofit organizations. Above all else, she treasured her time with her children.
She is survived by her two children: Gene Cyr of Caribou, Danielle Cyr of Washburn, five sisters: Wella LaPosta of Berlin, CT, Sandra Baker of Portland, JoAnne Johnson of Kannapolis, NC, Rosemary Szymkowicz of Waterboro, Regina DeVeau of Newington, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews. Denise was predeceased by her parents, as well as several aunts and uncles.
