Denise T. Davis

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Denise "Niecy" Davis on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 65. She passed away peacefully at Mercy House in Endicott with her sisters by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Niecy was born in Johnson City, NY, on April 28, 1960, to Donald and Ann Davis. She graduated from Johnson City High School in 1978 and later attended Broome Community College. She was predeceased by her father, Donald M. Davis. She is survived by her mother, Ann Davis; her siblings, Kathleen (Aaron), Thomas, Timothy, Lisa, Richard, Daniel (Jackie), and Jon Paul; her dear friend, Donald (DJ) McManus; and her two cats, Peeky and Buddy Pal. She was adored and will be deeply missed by her aunts and uncles, and by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Niecy was a dearly loved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many, both two-legged and four-legged. She was a diligent worker, spending time as a dispatcher at Kerr Motor Lines and Jones Motors, working in administration at GCR Tires, and later in home and custodial care. Whether feeding them in her driveway or bringing injured or abandoned animals to shelters or her home, she never hesitated to help a creature in need. As an aunt, she was a source of joy and support for her nieces and nephews. She treasured doing arts and crafts with them, taking them to volunteer at local animal shelters, and sharing their love of the local band Driftwood. Her family will miss her dearly, and most of all, they will miss her wit and keen sense of humor even in life's hardest moments.
Niecy's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the aides, nurses, doctors, and volunteers at the Upstate Cancer Center, Guthrie Hospice, and Mercy House of the Southern Tier for not only caring for her with tenderness, but also for the kindness and support they offered her family.
Calling hours will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Barber Memorial Home, 428 Main Street, Johnson City, NY. Following the service, the family invites you to join them for a celebration of Niecy's life at the American Legion Post 1645, 177 Robinson Street, Binghamton, NY, at 5:00 p.m.
