Denise Marie Sheets

Denise Marie Sheets, 70, widow to Rodney Lee Sheets who passed away September 5, 2019. Denise was born to the late Robert E Duffy and Blanche A Duffy on January 17th, 1955. She graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1972 and went on to work at the Federal Medical Center of Lexington, KY. for more than 20 years. She held many titles during her time there which included Active Prison Warden, Hostage Negotiations and Special Response Teams. She also obtained a multitude of awards for her efforts and achievements.
Denise and Rodney spent lots of time traveling and were privileged to say they had visited every U.S continental state along with Canada and Mexico via motorcycle and motorhome. She also enjoyed gathering with friends, book clubs, watching sports, crime shows and Lifetime movies. Hopefully, you were lucky enough to have enjoyed any of these things with her and maybe you were fortunate enough to have indulged in some of her strawberry pretzel salad or her banana pudding. To know Denise was a blessing. She was beautiful, kind, sweet, loving, and caring. She had a smile that would light up the room, and her laughter was so joyful and infectious it would make others want to laugh too.
She is survived by one son Lonnie (Stephanee) Sheets and 2 granddaughters Zoee and Hailee Sheets all of Georgetown, KY. One daughter Tonya (Michael) Lee, one grandson Jaxon Arneson all of Orlando, FL and one brother Robert Duffy of Paris, KY.
Visitation will be held January 16th from 10am to 12pm and service will begin at 12pm. Both will be held at Kerr Brothers funeral home 3421 Harrodsburg rd. Lexington, KY. Following the service with a final ride to her resting place where she will join her devout husband at Camp Nelson 6980 Danville rd. Nicholasville, KY.
