Dennis Becker, 73, of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025. Born on February 19, 1951, Dennis lived a life filled with good times, love, dedication, and accomplishment.
Dennis was the son of the late Albert Becker and Margaret (Weeks) Becker. He is preceded in death by his parents, and leaves behind his wife of 52 years, June (Valla) Becker. Siblings Peggy Brown (Kenny), Paula Becker, and Bert Becker. Dennis was a devoted father to Jason (Christy) and Bart (Angela) and a proud grandfather to Jay, Amy, Quinton, Avery, Raleigh, and Addley.
A 1969 graduate of Saint Xavier High School, Dennis excelled both academically and athletically. He was named to the 1968 All-State Football Team, and was also an accomplished baseball player. His passion for excellence carried over into his professional life as a Master Electrician and Electrical Contractor. Dennis was a leader in his field, serving as President of the National Electrical Contractors Association (local chapter) while also being a long-time member of their Board of Directors, and for contributing his expertise to the Jefferson County Electrical Examining Board. In recognition of his achievements and service, Dennis was also commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky.
Dennis's legacy is one of devotion to his family, friends, and colleagues. He will be remembered as a great Father, a great Grandfather, a great friend, a respected professional, and an individual who brought an entertaining personality to everyone he knew. Whether you knew him as Boogie, Boog, Boog-a-Lou, Pops, Papa, or simply Dennis, he was a special individual and will be sorely missed.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 9th from 3:00PM - 8:00PM, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Funeral procession from Highlands Funeral home to Calvary Cemetery will be Friday morning at 10:00AM
