Dennis Wayne Close

Dennis Wayne Close, 81 of Louisville passed away Monday, October 21, 2024. Dennis was born March 18, 1943 to his late parents Maeola (Talley) and Marvin R. Close. He is also preceded in death by his wife Laura "Tim" (Timmons) Close, and a daughter Robyn Northcut.
Survivors include his son, Jeff Close (Vanessa), ex daughter in law, Michell Collins: grandchildren Drew, Mica, Christina (Jake), Joshua (Brittany), Jennifer; great grandchildren, Alexander, Katherine, Robyn, Connor, Jacob, Jordan. life partner, Linda Mahoney & her daughter Tammy & sons David and Timmy; Linda's grandchildren, Jasper, Ryne, Breka and her children Cheyenne, Dakota;
He was a graduate of Valley High School class of 1961 and attended the University of Louisville all of while working for the Kroger Company. Worked for Louisville Tin & Stove Company as a salesman. Because he didn't like to punch a time clock, he went in business for himself as a co-owner of Doe Valley Key Market Inc DBA Doe Valley Food Land In Brandenburg, KY. He sold out that business and went to work for New York Life Insurance Co. as a license insurance agent and went to work for Dairy Mart which later changed to Circle K as retail manager.
He was a member of Harrison Masonic Lodge #122, Shriner and Scottish Rite.
Dennis enjoyed watching and playing sports golf, bowling water sports at his cabin "Close Quarters" on Cumberland Lake with family and friends.
Dennis chose to be cremated with a private burial. The Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. are handling his arrangements.
