Dennis Stephen "Denny" Gaughan, 83 of Bonita Springs, FL passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at North Collier Hospital.
Denny was born March 22, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Edward J. and Rose M. (Schaedal) Gaughan. He attended Cathedral High School and was an avid athlete excelling in track. After graduating from Cathedral, Dennis attended Wabash College earning an undergraduate degree and later pursued a graduate degree from Butler University in Accounting. Denny was a Certified Public Accountant for many years and an entrepreneur. During his lengthy career, he was instrumental in the successful operation of many business enterprises. In 1989, he established Floating Docks Manufacturing Company, a business which remains in the family today.
In 2006, Denny moved to Bonita Springs, Florida where he was a longtime member of Collier's Reserve Country Club in Naples, FL. Denny was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling the world and playing on legendary courses. In addition, he was an ardent sports fan throughout his life and enjoyed sharing this pastime with his friends and family. Denny loved the Indianapolis Colts! He had a tremendous sense of humor and delighted in entertaining all with his stories.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Gloria J. Gaughan; loving sons, Brian D. (Lynda) Gaughan of Carmel, IN, Christopher Gaughan of Fishers, IN; stepson, Robert (Nancy) Holloran of Bonita Springs, FL; and cherished grandchildren, Meredith, Dillon, Collin, Adrienne, Maura and Natalie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kevin, David, Edward, and Tony. Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Denny's name may be made to Christ Child Society of Naples at www.christchildnaples.org.
