Dennis Herbstritt Obituary
Denny was a man of many skills and worked building houses with his brother and then as a heavy equipment operator, retiring from Lakeview Landfill in 2000. A few years after retirement he went on to drive a school bus for the Fort LeBoeuf School District.
He was a devoted and loving family man, a steady presence upon whom everyone could depend. Truly one of a kind, he combined quick wit with an unwavering honesty that left a lasting impression.
Denny had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, finding joy in hunting and riding ATVs at the family camp, where he also shared drinks and laughs with his camp family. He loved the freedom of riding his motorcycle, and the camaraderie of a round of golf at his favorite place, Mound Grove Golf Course. He was a proud member of the Fort LeBoeuf American Legion Post 285 and American Legion Riders, in Waterford, Pennsylvania.
Dennis is survived by his sister Diane (Jerry) Wagner, daughters Tara Herbstritt and Trish (Sean) Hayes, bonus daughters Sandy (Brent) Neal, Lori Hartman, Jenny Costa, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Dominic Herbstritt, Jake (Emma) Neal, Jimmy and Aliyha McDade, Ava, Asa, Asher, and Alisa Neal, Kayla (Tyler) Branca, Blake Heffernan, and Riley, Nathan, Alex, and Justin Leuschen, and great-grandchildren: Athena and James McDade, Lily Rose Branca, and Delilah Neal. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Lorraine Malinowski and nephews Justin and Chris Herbstritt. He is preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Herbstritt.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory on W 38th St in Erie, PA. The family will hold a memorial service to honor Dennis's life at a future date, which will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Fort LeBoeuf American Legion Post #285, supporting the community and veterans in the area.

Just hearing the news of Dennis' passing. Too young!! I grew up in the Erie Manor with the Herbstritt family and send my condolences to Diane & family on Dennis & Doug's passings - I didn't know I'm sorry to say. Sympathy to Dennis' lived ones as well.

My sympathy to the family. I knew Denny through his brother Doug and Wife Cathy. Also through his neighbor Dom Semintelli back in the day . Denny was a fun guy . He sure accomplished alot in his life Journey.
