Dennis Joe Kershner

Dennis J. Kershner, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 17th, 2025. Dennis was born on February 25, 1955, to Bobbie "Jack" and Sarah "Jane" (Cross) Kershner. Dennis was a 1973 graduate of Republic High School. Dennis married Diana Britain in November 1973. They were blessed with 3 children, Mike, Heather and Pepper. Dennis joined the Air Force where he served as military security police. After his honorable discharge, Dennis was an over-the-road truck driver, driving for Bob Gammon, Campbell Humping to Please Trucking, RBX, Prime, Oakley, and O&S Trucking. Dennis owned his own fleet of trucks and an excavating business before retiring from the road to be a dispatcher. Dennis enjoyed working around the farm on machinery, going fishing with the boys, and having family gatherings and fish frys.
Dennis is survived by his wife Diana, son Mike (Mary) Kershner, daughter Heather (Travis) Garrett and daughter Pepper (Jason) Aldrich, 7 grandkids Kiana (Devin), Darren, Katie, Toby, Lex, Adi and Cody, and one great-grandson, Shiloh. Dennis is also survived by his brothers Doug, Derryll (Terry), Don (Donna), Dean (Becky), Dan (Becky), and a sister Della (Steven). Dennis was a huge animal lover and he leaves behind his two 4-legged fur babies, Bobo and Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darin, and a great-grandbaby, as well as a beloved fur baby, J.J.
Dennis was a loving husband, Dad, and grandfather. Dad, you will be dearly missed, but always remembered.
A Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 26th, 2025, from 10-11 am at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Funeral services will follow at 11. Dennis will be laid to rest, with full military honors, at Evergreen Cemetery following the funeral service.
