Dennis (Denny) K Kunz

October 20, 1954-April 30, 2021

A legend of a man went to the big rodeo in the sky on April 30, 2021 due to a massive heart attack. Dennis (Denny) was a cowboy to say the least. He grew up in North Ogden, UT. Born to Milford Junior and Darlene Kunz. He grew up knowing how to work hard for what he wanted.

When he was young, he wanted to be a calf roper, building an arena with whatever he could find and practicing on Holstein calves he bottle-raised. He eventually went on to be one hell of a Bronc rider, winning many titles, saddles and buckles. He was one of the best there ever was, I've always been told growing up.

Denny spent many winters in Arizona catching wild cattle and horses. Catching elk out of helicopters with nothing more than a knife. He loved adventure. His famous line was "Wanna go and have some fun". His friends knew that meant they were about to go do something wild and crazy.

After he retired riding the wild horses, he became one of the greatest pickup men. Cowboys knew they were in good hands when Denny was picking up. He saved many lives in the rodeo arena. He was invincible on his buckskin horse K Bar.

He was a very well-respected horse trader. He was always fair and honest, would never try to cheat someone. He lived by the motto "Buy fair and every now and then pick up an acorn." He was what people aspire to be.

He met his future wife Donna-Gussie at the Tamarack Saloon in 1987. They had their first child Stephanie in 1991 and Married October 23, 1992. Then in 1996 they welcomed their second child Dennis Kincade. They had many great years of rodeos, travels, raising cattle and buying/trading horses. They had started going to Arizona in the winter where they had a lot of fun as husband and wife.

He was one in a million, husband, father, dear friend and a Cowboy.

Hero's get remembered; Legends never die. He was a legend.

Denny is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Donna Gussie Palmer Kunz, his daughter Stephanie Kunz & AJ Wells, his son Dennis Kincade Kunz. His mom Darlene Kunz and his younger brother Perry & Diane Kunz. Mother-in-law, Janet Palmer, Brother-in-law's David & Judy Palmer, Donald & Billine Palmer. A special mention to his friend since he was 5 years old, Tim Ellis. Along with many nieces and nephews. He had so many friends that became family, that there isn't enough space to list every single person without missing someone. Just know he loved y'all and would do anything for you.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milford Junior Kunz, infant sister, brother Jack Dale, great nephew Dakota, and father-in-law Clayton Palmer.

We had a great life together; it was just cut too short.

We are planning a "Final Farewell and a Celebration of life" on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Anderson Livestock Auction @ 4:00 pm. Please come and share some stories and celebrate this cowboy's life with family and friends. Food, Beer, & Beverages will be served.
