Dennis Wayne Redditt, 73, of McAlester, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at his home in McAlester, Oklahoma surrounded by his loved ones.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted in Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be at a later date.
Dennis was born on August 15, 1951 in Clarendon, Arkansans to Opal Willie Redditt and Mary Margaret (Edwards) Redditt.
After graduating from high school in his hometown of Clarendon, Dennis displayed his patriotic spirit by joining the Army. His military service spanned four years, from 1974 to 1994, where he served with distinction at Fort Chaffee. Dennis married his wife, Debbie Nelson on February 18, 1994 in Fort Smith, Arkansans.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Dennis continued to serve his community through his work at the McAlester Ammunition Plant. For 24 years, he performed inspections and surveillance, ensuring the safety and reliability of the plant's operations until his retirement in 2019.
Dennis's life outside of work was marked by simple pleasures and the joys of the natural world. An avid fisherman. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion for sports. As a devoted Razorback fan, he spent many an afternoon cheering on his favorite team.
The front porch of Dennis's home was a special place for him-a place to sit, reflect, and watch the world go by. He enjoyed the company of his beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The moments they spent together, were among his most treasured times.
Dennis's legacy is one of love, service, and dedication. He lived a life that exemplified the values he held dear, and his impact on those around him will not be forgotten.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Debbie Redditt of the home; children, Kim Reinschmeidt of Alma, Arkansans, Jeremy Miles and wife, Heather of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Eric Newberry, Adam Newberry and wife, Savannah, Joel Newberry and wife, Madison, Elizabeth Newberry, Luke Miller; great-grandchildren, Serenity Newberry, Hazel Newberry, Everly Newberry, Sam Smith, Wyatt Newberry; numerous other family members and friends.

A special thanks to Heartland Hospice, Dr. Stacy Hardy, Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas and Ada, Oklahoma, Ron Manning, Sam Tate, Kimberly Reinschmeidt for being the rock for Debbie and Dennis these last several months as Dennis battled with his cancer.
