Dennis Dale Ringgenberg, 76, was born on May 17, 1948 to Dale and Mary (Harleen) Ringgenberg in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up on a farm south of Madrid, Iowa. He passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Ahava Healthcare in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Dennis graduated from Madrid High School in 1966 and attended Boone Junior College. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University in 1990 and MBA from the University of Iowa in 1993. He began working at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in 1969. He started as a tire builder and advanced thru the ranks to become Plant Manager of the Decatur, Illinois plant and later the Warren County, Tennessee plant where he retired in 2005.
Dennis married Shona Jagerson November 8, 1968 and they made their home in Madrid, Iowa where they raised 3 sons.
Saying Dennis enjoyed sports as a participant and spectator is an understatement!! He played center field for the Madrid Merchant softball team, later for Henry J's Tacos and Woody's Bees. He was an avid fan of Iowa State Cyclones, San Francisco Giants, and 49ers as well as many others.
Dennis is survived by his wife Shona Ringgenberg, sons Michael (Sara) of Clarksville, TN, Dirk (Michelle) of Lansing, KS, and Kevin (Robin) of Denver, CO. Brother Dean (Genta) of Madrid, IA, and three grandchildren, Brandi (Todd) Montgomery, Mandi Ringgenberg and Hunter Ringgenberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in law Harold and Mary Jagerson and brother-in-law Scott Jagerson.
A visitation will be held on August 16 from 5-7pm at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid, Iowa. Please feel free to wear your favorite team's attire!!
