Dennis Sitton, 73, passed away peacefully at his home on November 9, 2025.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Dennis was born on October 26, 1952, in Louisiana, Missouri, to Myrtle Tilly and Paul Sitton. In 1974, he met the love of his life, Diane, and together they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage.
Dennis and Diane made their home in Hotchkiss, Colorado, where they became beloved members of the community. Known for his humor and down-to-earth spirit, Dennis often described himself as “a jack of all trades and a master of none.” His career in construction took him all over the country, where he and Diane made countless lifelong friends along the way.
When not working, Dennis enjoyed his family, fishing, traveling, riding his motorcycle, and spending time outdoors. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Diane; his son Robert (Caroline) of Grand Junction; his son Dennis (Kelsey) of Hotchkiss; his daughter Elisha (Jim) of Montrose; and his daughter Christina (Casey) of Hotchkiss, and five sisters and one brother. He had nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom loved spending time with their Papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Paul Sitton, one sister and two brothers.
