Derek S. Chace, 28, died Friday, June 21, at Concord Hospital in Concord, N.H. after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He leaves his parents Richard and Leighann (Green) Chace of Uxbridge, twin brother Tyler Chace of Uxbridge, former wife Hannah McKenna and their children Mason and Rylee Chace of Northbridge, paternal grandparents Dick and Lynda Chace of Mendon and maternal grandmother Cynthia Green of North Brookfield. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Roy Green.
Born in Worcester, on November 13, 1995, Derek lived in Douglas and Uxbridge most of his life. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School Class of 2014, where he played football, lacrosse and indoor track. He was a member of Local 609 as a laborer in the construction field for many years. Derek enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, visiting the beach, boating and especially spending time with his children who he loved dearly.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 3 to 6 P.M. at Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St. Whitinsville. A funeral service will be held at 10am, Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Village Congregational Church, 5 Church St, Whitinsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. diabetes.org
