Derek Lamar Watson, Sr. was born on June 10, 1968 at Grant Hospital, Columbus Ohio.
Derek grew up in Columbus Ohio and attended various schools in the area. Being the baby of the family he was loved and cherished by many holding that distinction.
Derek was an avid fan of boxing and delved into that sport a bit during his formative years. Playfully known a Derek "D'Bo" he was somewhat amusing as he would say it with his raspy voice.
Derek confessed his sins and was baptized in Jesus' name at Kingdom Alive Word Church where he was a regular attendee and helped out in various ways.
Derek worked doing manual labor on many odd jobs. He worked as a daycare aide, he assisted at the volunteer food pantry and as a food catering aide. He was known to assist friends and neighbors with odd jobs around the house and yard to lighten their load.
Derek, for all who knew him, loved to eat. Soul food was his delight but he was never shy about any cuisine.
Derek will be sadly missed, so early leaving. He leaves behind His mother, Carole Watson. He also leaves behind 5 children (Taquila Gilcrease, Ciara Watson, Lanazha Watson, Derek Watson, Jr. and D'Jaun Wilson). He also leaves behind his siblings Bryan Lavell, Dwayne (Tylese), Angela, Gary and Andre Watson and (as brother) Jimmy Burley. Other family members and relatives, too many to list, are also remembered here.
