Deric Demetrius Colander

Mr. Deric Colander Sr., son of the late Rudolph and Virginia Lee Pope Colander was born June 22, 1964, in Nansemond County. He attended the public schools of Suffolk, VA and was a 1982 graduate of Suffolk High School. At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ.
Deric enlisted in the United States Army in June of 1982 and retired in June of 2002. He further continued his employment with the United States Government.
He was preceded in death by his parents The Late Rudolph Colander and Virginia Lee Pope Colander; sister, Paula Caroll-Nelson; grandparents, the late Elder Vernon T. Pope, Evangelist Ruby B. Pope, Bishop Dr. Obadiah Colander, and Mother DeJohnnie Colander.
He will forever be cherished by: 2nd Mother, Linda Colander; his child, Deric Colander Jr., of Maryland; and three grandchildren - Caidence Cired Colander, Charli Camarie, and Kingston Cairo Colander; sister, Vera Colander; two added brothers, Anthony and Robert, two added sisters, Antoinette and Angela, a special cousin, Ralph Bernard Colander, Sr., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
