Thomas Mark Colander
Tom lived a life committed to his faith & family, with deep appreciation for the splendor of God’s creation. Thomas Mark Colander, age 60, of Redvale, CO passed away unexpectedly, on May 6, 2024. Tom graduated to heaven, after a head on wreck in San Miguel Canyon.
Tom was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, March 4, 1964. He grew up in a loving family with his parents, an older brother & two younger sisters. Tom completed majors in Business Administration & Computer Science, at North Park University, Chicago, IL, in 1986.
Lynn and Tom met at church in 1980 & were married in 1986. They enjoyed raising two beautiful daughters. Tom & Lynn were profoundly in love for 42 years.
Tom had a dream to run a guest ranch in the mountains, nestled on a lake. In 1997, they moved near Norwood, CO & started Wing Shadow Ranch on the Gurley Reservoir & bought an existing outfitting business, Colorado Trophies. In this career, he was able to combine his love of the outdoors with his passion for Christ. Over the last 27 years, he lived out his dream job & built many lasting friendships.
Tom is survived by his parents, Donald & Gretchen Colander, his siblings, Dr. Timothy (Lora) Colander, Sheryl (Todd) Slechta, & Sarah (Todd) Engels. He is survived by his wife Lynn Colander, his two daughters, Michelle Colander & Kristina (Jonathan) Barstad, & three granddaughters, Allison, Brooklynn, & Caitlyn Barstad. Tom’s love for his family & friends was paramount. Tom had a servant's heart and positively impacted so many lives & will be deeply missed.
The celebration of life service & reception will be on June 22, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Celebration Church in Montrose, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse under the Tom Colander Memorial Fund.
