Devon Christopher Allen, of Bellefontaine, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend, had his journey cut short at the age of 31, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
Devon was born on June 1, 1992, in Kenton, Ohio.
He is survived by his parents, Don and Stacy Risner and Matt Cox, two sisters; Jessica (Brad) Brown, Megan (Patrick) Cook; his grandparents; Linda Allen, Larry Cox, and Doug Risner, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill Allen, Myra Risner, Ellen Cox, and Susie Gildow.
Devon was a 2010 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School. After graduating, Devon proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces, serving in the U.S. Army 2010 - 2013.
Devon was known for his strong presence, big heart, and ornery grin. He loved fishing, hunting, spending time with friends and family, and taking naps. He also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen or on the grill, preparing delicious meals. He loved listening to music, playing cards, and watching football. He was a big Ohio State Buckeye and Bengals fan. Most of all, Devon was a proud uncle to his two nieces and was overjoyed to be welcoming his first nephew in April 2024.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2 until 5 p.m. on Sunday October 29, 2023, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth St., Belle Center, Ohio. His grandfather, Doug Risner, Sr. will officiate a funeral service on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Belle Center funeral home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center with miliary honors provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
The family encourages those in attendance to dress comfortably and casually and to wear a hat.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Recovery Zone, 440 S St Paris St, Bellefontaine, OH 43311.
