Diana Patricia Avella, 79, of Broomall, PA formerly of Unity, ME passed away on July 19, 2024. She was born on June 02. 1945, in Jersey City, NJ to the late Pasquale Joseph Avella and Elizabeth Reulbach.
Diana was a beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her former husband, Bruce Lackie of Orono, ME (m1968); her daughter Johanna Elizabeth (Scott) Keehn, her sister Bernice (William) Popp of Maplewood, NJ, her niece, Amy Beth Popp and her nephew, Christopher William Popp. Diana's memory will also be cherished by her grandchild: Julianna Elizabeth Keehn of Drexel Hill, PA
Diana will be remembered for her love of cooking, teaching and her love for the Quaker Community. In 2001, Diana left teaching/social work to become a chef at Pendle Hill, a Quaker Education and Retreat Center. In 2003, Diana was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of owning a Bed & Breakfast in Unity, ME. Diana did extensive volunteer work with the Quaker community in Maine and enjoyed spending time on reflection within the community. Diana left a legacy of hopefulness and a joy of cooking to all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
