Mamou - Diana M. Douget, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 73. Funeral Services will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Monday, July 15, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Born to the loving parents Anna Lee Bogard and Elias Miller, Diana graced the world with her presence in Mamou, LA. Her passion for cooking, especially during holidays, brought joy to her family, and her warm gatherings with friends created everlasting memories. She was a dedicated Manager at an Assistant Living Facility named Peaceful Maison, where she brought compassion and care to those under her charge. She knew no stranger and loved everyone she came in contact with.
Diana cherished her roots, having graduated from Vidrine High School in 1970, where she formed lasting connections and cultivated her skills for life.
She is survived by her sons, Drew McCauley (Cassie) and Billy McCauley (Rhonda); her greatest loves of all, grandchildren, Seth McCauley, Lauren McCauley, Coleman McCauley, Tucker McCauley, Lydia McCauley, Nathan McCauley and Ethan McCauley; her great-grandchild, Myles McCauley; her sister, Francis Danielson; her brothers, Randy Miller (Sara) and Ricky Miller.
Diana is preceded in death by her husband, Liorest Douget, Sr.; her parents; and her sister, Mona Chapman.
At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Sunday, July 14, 2024, beginning at 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 8:00 am until the time of service.
