Mrs. Diana Lynn Wilkerson Edwards, 72, of Jacksonville, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 19, 2024. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date.
Diana is survived by her loving children, Jaye Lyn Edwards Taylor (Brett) and Richard Lee "Chip" Edwards II; her cherished grandchildren, Shane Taylor and Cora Lyn Taylor; and her nephew, Adam Wilkerson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard Lee Edwards; her brothers, Ronnie and Lee Wilkerson; her nephew, Shane Wilkerson; and her parents Reginald and Della Vee Wilkerson.
Diana dedicated her life to the care of her disabled son, Chip, demonstrating unwavering love and strength to all who knew her. She was fondly remembered by many in the community for her time spent at Hollingsworth Grocery.
She was known affectionately as "Mama D" by her children's friends-the "yard youngins." She adored her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Granny," and loved her other baby, her Chihuahua, Angel
In her quieter moments, Diana enjoyed crossword puzzles and staying connected with friends and family on Facebook. Diana was a devoted and loving mother. She will be greatly missed.
